If you know Atkins’ diet or ketogenic diet, you may find the Dubrow may be considered as a variant of either diet. Atkins diet heavily is also intended for weight loss and it is basically a diet full of meat and dairy products. Critics quickly find some downsides in the Atkins diet which is that the diet is not good for the heart health. Dr. Atkins died of heart disease. Keto diet or ketogenic diet is a relatively new diet that is intended to help some cancer patients to fight certain types of cancer such as brain cancer.
How to use the Dubrow diet? So this diet is coupled with intermittent fasting. That is, foods can be only used for a specific time frame. As for the timing, a dieter can choose to eat the foods allowed during a 6, 8, 10 or 12 hour period. This is a concept for intermittent fasting. So there is nothing new. Say you eat two two meals a day or multiple meals a day, but just within 6 to 10 hours. For instance, you can skip breakfast, eat lunch at 12.00 PM and dinner at 6.00 PM which is a 6-hour interval.
This intermittent fasting is one way to prevent overeating. People should never eat anything when their body does not signal the need. So this is a good part for this Dubrow diet.
The downsides of the Dubrow diet. The Dubrow diet is mystified by the multiple phases of the diet program. That makes it hard for dieters to follow. The diet may share the same deficiency of Atkins diet and ketogenic diet which is that it uses too much protein. A high protein content in a diet can cause a negative impact on health. Normally, according to Dr. T. Colin Campbell, a diet should not consist more than 11% calories from protein. The typical American diet uses 15 to 20%. The protein amount in this Dubrow diet can be at least similar to that of the typical American diet or even higher.

Weight loss should be enjoyable and rewarding at the end.
